• This time it really is Google Related

  Whether you see it as a helpful signpost or a further move towards big brother Google Related is the latest move by the search giant to guide what we do and when.

  Available as a Chrome extension and part of the Internet Explorer Google toolbar, as you search Google Related pings up other content relevant to what you are browsing (news, images, etc all in real-time).

  With Google Related teasers of related content pop-up at the bottom of your browser page that you can rollover to view more and even interact with.

  In terms of venues – restaurants, etc – Google Related could force them to take more notice of what people say online about them. Browse a restaurant’s own website and the Google Related pop-ups will include Google Maps and Reviews written about the restaurants.

  Basically, Google Related does what many savvy surfers already do when comparing something or researching a purchase etc, but automatically and all on one page. It takes a barrier away – or as some see it, it thinks for you.

  YouTube have launched the first edition of the YouTube Creator Playbook. It is designed to give partners and creators important tips, best practices, and strategies that will help build audiences on YouTube.

  YouTube say they will keep the Playbook (downloadable as a PDF) updated as new features are released and the servive evolves and shows a very strong commitment to ensure that YouTube continues to grow but also maintains a consistent high quality amongst the top channels.

  Worth a look even for the curious and a must for anybody looking to use video as a marketing tool.
